Best vlogging cameras of 2026

Updated 2026-10-30 · 2 min read · prices update with every price check

A vlogging camera has a different job from a stills camera. It has to look good pointed at your own face at arm's length, keep the picture steady while you walk, and record clean sound. Here are the ones that do that best, with today's prices.

  • Best pocket vlogger: DJI Osmo Pocket 3. A 1-inch sensor on a built-in gimbal, so footage is smooth even while you walk. It fits in a jacket pocket.
  • Best compact: Canon PowerShot V1. A bigger-than-usual 1.4-inch sensor with a wide zoom, a flip-out screen and no lenses to change.
  • Best with interchangeable lenses: Sony ZV-E10 II. An APS-C body made for creators. Add a wide prime and it is the best-looking video in this list for the money.
  • Cheapest: Sony ZV-1 II. A 1-inch compact with a wide zoom that starts at 18mm, wide enough to film yourself at arm's length.
  • Best full frame: Sony ZV-E1. Full-frame low-light video with stabilisation, for creators who film indoors or at night.

What to look for

  • A screen that faces you. All five picks have one.
  • Wide enough at arm's length. Look for a lens around 18mm (full-frame equivalent) or wider. Many cameras' "wide" end is 24mm, which only fits your face.
  • Stabilisation. A gimbal (Osmo Pocket) or in-body stabilisation (ZV-E1) beats electronic stabilisation, which crops the picture.
  • A microphone input. Built-in microphones are fine for quiet rooms. Outdoors, plug in a small mic.
  • 4K at 60p or faster if you want smooth slow motion. Each camera's page lists its frame rates.

Action cameras for vlogging?

Action cameras are tougher and smaller, and modern ones have good stabilisation, but they have tiny sensors that struggle indoors. If you vlog outdoors and active, see the best action cameras of 2026.
