SL3-P overview
The Leica SL3-P is a 44.9 MP full-frame mirrorless camera for L-Mount, announced by Leica in June 2026.
Going by its spec sheet, it suits video, wildlife and sport, low light, and landscape and detail. It is a weaker pick for all-day shooting on one battery.
No store we track in Europe lists it today. It is listed in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and Singapore. It launched at €5,990 (body only).
Worth comparing it with the Leica SL3, Panasonic Lumix S1R II and Sony α7R VI.

Low light & noise
4.4 µm pixels
44.9 MP on a full frame sensor, ISO up to 200,000
Bigger pixels gather more light each, so they tend to show less noise at high ISO, but sensor design matters as much. For real noise at ISO 6400, these sites measure it:
- Photons to Photos: dynamic range vs ISO ↗Photographic dynamic range measured at every ISO, bodies on one chart
- Photons to Photos: noise vs ISO ↗Read noise at every ISO from lab tests: lower is cleaner in the shadows
- DPReview studio scene ↗The same scene shot by each camera at the ISO you pick, side by side
- DPReview reviews ↗Full reviews with high-ISO samples
- Low-light video tests ↗Real-world high-ISO footage on YouTube
How it stacks up
- 40 fps — faster bursts than 86% of the full frame mirrorless cameras we list
- 44.9 MP — more resolution than 76% of the full frame mirrorless cameras we list
- 5.76M dots — a sharper viewfinder than 61% of the full frame mirrorless cameras we list
