CL overview

The Leica CL is a 24.24 MP APS-C mirrorless camera for L-Mount, announced by Leica in November 2017. It is discontinued, so new stock may be limited.

Going by its spec sheet, it suits travel and everyday carry. It is a weaker pick for rain and dust, slow handheld shots with unstabilised lenses, and all-day shooting on one battery.

No store we track in Europe lists it today. It is listed in the United States.

Worth comparing it with the Leica TL2, Fujifilm X-Pro2 and Fujifilm X-Pro3.

Low light & noise

3.9 µm pixels

24.24 MP on a aps-c sensor, ISO up to 50,000

Bigger pixels gather more light each, so they tend to show less noise at high ISO, but sensor design matters as much. For real noise at ISO 6400, these sites measure it:

How it stacks up
