FX5 overview
The Sony FX5 is a 16.6 MP full-frame mirrorless camera for Sony E-mount, announced by Sony in July 2026.
Going by its spec sheet, it suits vlogging and selfies as well as low light. It is a weaker pick for eye-level shooting in bright sun.
No store we track in Europe lists it today. It is listed in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and Singapore. It launched at €5,400 (body only).
Worth comparing it with the Sony FX3, Canon EOS R6 V and Nikon ZR.

Low light & noise
7.2 µm pixels
16.6 MP on a full frame sensor
Bigger pixels gather more light each, so they tend to show less noise at high ISO, but sensor design matters as much. For real noise at ISO 6400, these sites measure it:
