EOS R50 V overview

The Canon EOS R50 V is a 24.2 MP APS-C mirrorless camera for Canon RF, announced by Canon in March 2025.

Going by its spec sheet, it suits vlogging and selfies, travel and everyday carry, video, and wildlife and sport. It is a weaker pick for rain and dust, slow handheld shots with unstabilised lenses, and paid jobs that need a backup card.

New, it sells for £499 to £729.99 at the 2 stores we track in the United Kingdom that have it in stock; used and refurbished copies start at £459. Over the last 90 days it has usually cost £649 to £699 new.

Worth comparing it with the Sony ZV-E10 II, Nikon Z30 and Fujifilm X-M5.

Low light & noise

3.9 µm pixels

24.2 MP on a aps-c sensor, ISO up to 32,000

Bigger pixels gather more light each, so they tend to show less noise at high ISO, but sensor design matters as much. For real noise at ISO 6400, these sites measure it:

How it stacks up

  • 370 g — lighter than 76% of the aps-c mirrorless cameras we list
  • 15 fps — faster bursts than 62% of the aps-c mirrorless cameras we list
