Cinema Camera 6K overview
The Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K is a 24.4 MP full-frame cinema camera for L-Mount, announced by Blackmagic Design in September 2023.
Going by its spec sheet, it suits video and low light. It is a weaker pick for slow handheld shots with unstabilised lenses, paid jobs that need a backup card and eye-level shooting in bright sun.
No store we track in the United Kingdom lists it today. It is listed in the United States and Australia.
Worth comparing it with the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro, Blackmagic Design PYXIS 6K and Sony FX3.

Low light & noise
6.0 µm pixels
24.4 MP on a full frame sensor, ISO up to 25,600
Bigger pixels gather more light each, so they tend to show less noise at high ISO, but sensor design matters as much. For real noise at ISO 6400, these sites measure it:
- Photons to Photos: dynamic range vs ISO ↗Photographic dynamic range measured at every ISO, bodies on one chart
