Otus ML 1.4/85 overview
The Zeiss Otus ML 1.4/85 is an 85mm f/1.4 prime for full-frame cameras on Sony E-mount, Canon RF and Nikon Z, announced by Zeiss in February 2025. 78 cameras we track take it without an adapter.
Going by its spec sheet, it suits portraits and low light. It is a weaker pick for travelling light, fast-moving subjects and close-ups.
No store we track in Europe lists it today. It is listed in Australia. It launched at €2,799.
Worth comparing it with the Canon RF 85mm F1.4L VCM, Sony FE 85mm F1.4 GM II and Nikon NIKKOR Z 85mm f/1.2 S.
