Osmo Action 4 overview

The DJI Osmo Action 4 is a 10 MP 1/1.3-inch action camera with a built-in lens, announced by DJI in August 2023. It has been followed by the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro; both are still sold.

Going by its spec sheet, it suits travel and everyday carry, video, bad weather, and water and adventure. It is a weaker pick for paid jobs that need a backup card and eye-level shooting in bright sun.

No store we track in Europe lists it today. It is listed in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and Singapore.

Worth comparing it with the GoPro HERO12 Black, GoPro HERO13 Black and Insta360 Ace Pro.

Things to know

  • 10 MP 1/1.3" CMOS sensor; no in-body stabilisation, so steadiness comes from the lens.
  • Video 4K up to 120p, 10-bit internal; no mic input.
  • 2.3-inch fixed touchscreen; no viewfinder.
  • USB-C port.
  • 145 g with battery and card; 71 × 44 × 33 mm; weather sealed.
  • One card slot (microSD).
  • Replaced by the Osmo Action 5 Pro (2024); both are still sold.
  • Same line: Osmo Action (2019).
