M10-R overview
The Leica M10-R is a 40.9 MP full-frame rangefinder for Leica M, announced by Leica in July 2020. It is discontinued, so new stock may be limited.
Going by its spec sheet, it suits low light as well as landscape and detail. It is a weaker pick for slow handheld shots with unstabilised lenses, paid jobs that need a backup card and fast action.
No store we track in Australia lists it today. It is listed in the United States.
Worth comparing it with the Leica M11, Leica M10-P and Leica M10.

Low light & noise
4.6 µm pixels
40.9 MP on a full frame sensor, ISO up to 50,000
Bigger pixels gather more light each, so they tend to show less noise at high ISO, but sensor design matters as much. For real noise at ISO 6400, these sites measure it:
- Photons to Photos: dynamic range vs ISO ↗Photographic dynamic range measured at every ISO, bodies on one chart
- Photons to Photos: noise vs ISO ↗Read noise at every ISO from lab tests: lower is cleaner in the shadows
- DPReview studio scene ↗The same scene shot by each camera at the ISO you pick, side by side
